Localized cryotherapy treatments are brief; to reach and maintain the desired skin-surface temperature, it takes only 5-8 minutes at a working temperature of -130°C. Depending on how large an area needs to be for the cold to affect it, this period may extend.
Localized cryotherapy procedures take much longer than whole body cryotherapy sessions, which last roughly 2-3 minutes. This is because the cryosauna’s temperature, which is approximately -180°C, affects the entire body. However, local cryotherapy treatments are more advantageous for those who are less mobile or have a fear of enclosed areas (which prevents them from using cryosaunas).
It is advised to have local cryo sessions 1-3 times per week as far as frequency is concerned.
Although the majority of patients experience the advantages of localised cryotherapy right once, they must have a series of treatments over several weeks to maintain the advantages (depending on your needs).
